林书豪完整毕业典礼致辞

2021年5月27日，著名美籍华裔前NBA球员林书豪出席哈佛大学2021届 *** 毕业庆典并向毕业生致辞。

作为哈佛大学的校友，林书豪于2006年入读哈佛大学并加入校篮球队，代表哈佛大学参加全美大学男子篮球锦标赛（NCAA）。在大二赛季（2007年–2008年），林书豪以场均12.6分入选常春藤盟校年度第二队成员，到了大三的2008-09年赛季，他名列NCAA之一级别前十名更佳男子篮球运动员，并入选常春藤盟校年度之一队成员。在大四赛季（2009年–2010年），林书豪于客场对阵排名第12名的康涅狄格大学哈士奇队时获得全美关注，他攻下个人在大学比赛记录里更高的30分，并抓下9篮板、3助攻、3抢断、2盖帽。当年林书豪再次入选常春藤盟校年度之一队成员。ESPN篮球解说员弗兰克·法希纳将林书豪列为当年度更具才华的12名篮球运动员之一。

林书豪在哈佛校队的期间，共取得1483分、487篮板、406助攻、225抢断的表现。

2010年，林书豪以3.1学级分获得哈佛大学经济学学位。

在短短十三分钟演讲中，林书豪分享了自己作为一个亚裔NBA球员的成长经历，回顾了自己职业生涯高光时刻“林来疯（Linsanity）”时期的心路历程。

面对自己的学弟学妹们，林书豪坦诚说道：“

“I often say that the one thing I regret most about Linsanity is that I didn't slow down and appreciate the moment I was in while I was in it.”

我总说，我对“林来疯（‘Linsanity’）”那段时光感到最遗憾的就是自己没有放慢节奏，趁着当下享受当下。

要注意appreciate还具有

1）理解，明白；

2）感激；

3）增值，升值 等其他的释义。

appreciate 虽然是高考考纲词汇，但在《新概念》第二册的第26课中就已经重点讲解过了。

林书豪建议学弟学妹们在未来人生中：要注重过程，而不是结果！

林书豪透露了自己“林来疯”期间，尽管外表看来风光无限，但内心遭受了极大的压力，一度因为极度焦虑而寝食难安，甚至难以起床。

“That's because success isn't some magical destination. You won't find contentment once you get there. During Linsanity, I was literally the most popular person on the planet. I was on the cover of Time, Sports Illustrated, almost every publication you could think of. But three weeks into Linsanity, before a game against the Chicago Bulls, I couldn't even eat or sleep. I had so much anxiety I was stuck in bed, shaking. And that's when I learned, if you can't be content in the journey, you will not be content at your destination. There will always be a new goal.”

content作为高考考纲词汇，虽然拼写简单，但在用法上还是有很多值得我们注意的地方。比如形容词时和做名词时的发音不同；作名词时有时常以复数名词的形式出现，有时又做不可数名词。

在对学弟学妹的寄语中，林书豪反复提到了自己对成功的看法。他认为个人取得多大的成就都不算成功。真正的成功在于能够帮助他人。

“In this year where we've seen the pandemic expose so many social justice issues and racial inequalities in our society, I hope that you will take your identity and whatever background and life experiences you have to help change the lives of those around you, too.”

“今年，我们看到疫情暴露了我们社会中太多的社会正义和种族不平等问题。我希望你们也能凭借你们的身份、背景和经历去帮助你身边的人。”

作为高考考纲词汇，要注意justice一词多种搭配的用法，如：

bring *** . to justice: 将某人绳之以法

do justice to *** .: 公平对待某人/充分展示某人更佳状态

do oneself justice: 〔在考试等中〕充分发挥（自己的能力）

inequality adj. an unfair situation, in which some groups in society have more money, opportunities, power etc than others 〔社会上的〕不平等
